The School Readiness Research Initiative is seeking qualified candidates for the position of research assistant to provide support to several new and ongoing projects. Central office is located in York. Regional, multi-county travel for home and school visits is frequent and required. Mileage reimbursement provided. Primary duties will be the collection of field-based social science data, including interviews with parents and assessments of pre-school, elementary, and secondary aged children. This involves administering tests, playing games and conducting detailed interviews. Training provided. Secondary duties may include materials preparation, data entry and scoring, and general project related tasks. Hours vary greatly so flexible schedule a must. Candidates must be committed, reliable, organized, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Successful candidates must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team. Experience with social science research and/or experience with children and families required. BA/BS in psychology, human development, education or related field preferred. Candidates with Spanish language skills strongly encouraged to apply. Position pays $12/hour with a maximum of 24 hours per week and requires a flexible schedule. Employment starts at time of hire and continues through June 30, 2017. Good potential for work September 2017 - June 2018 for exceptional hires.
