This position will serve as the Financial Officer for Development and Alumni Relations, reporting to both the Corporate Controller and the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, and will provide leadership in management of financial and budgetary matters for DD&AR, including financial analysis and reporting and financial stewardship with accountability for sound financial management of the unit. This position also provides support for the unit's strategic planning efforts. Duties will include oversight of financial practices in both Development, comprised mainly of general funds and university services budgets, and the Penn State Alumni Association (PSAA), a 501(c)3 and revenue generating operation. Responsibilities include all general financial management, budgeting, policy and procedure interpretation, guidance and compliance, oversight of financial systems and related approvals, providing support for the general salary increase process, working with unit in the development of individual budgets as well as components of the overall unit budget, and monitoring budgets to ensure planned resources are available to meet strategic objectives and coordination of internal audits and risk assessments. This position will also serve as the liaison to central University offices in the areas of budget, payroll, risk management, purchasing and others as needed. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge in financial and budget management, analysis and forecasting, and strategic planning. Position will be fully accountable for the sound financial operation of Development and Alumni Relations and requires a high degree of self-direction, strong leadership skills, ability to lead and manage teams, and a strong commitment to inclusionary practices which support diversity throughout the University.
