Job Responsibilities : Manage the prepared foods buying functions. Collaborate with vendors and brokers where applicable to refresh and innovate prepared foods, restaurant and catering for continued growth and profitability. Ensure the Market District stores are the leaders in the industry in regards to balanced and seasonally inspired assortment, current trends, promo items, competitive pricing, catering options, and \"First to Market\" Collaborate with other departments in our stores to highlight cross-utilizing opportunities, increasing profitability through Plan B items and holiday and catering packages. Understand the DSD, new vendor, new item set up, PLU, RP process Understand the system maintenance process - set-up, price input, price change, vendor/item change Be the liaison between our stores and our vendors, brokers, partners, warehouses and corporate office. Manage the Prepared Foods financial functions/information. Keep track of all sales, margin, shrink and cost opportunities. Communicate regularly to stores improvement information. Present analyses, strategies, and recommendations to operations and merchandising for pre and post review of the weekly and seasonal plans. Assist in establishing retail pricing guidelines, GP, sales updates and objectives, inventory controls to maximize profit potential to adhere to our Market District Business plan and strategies. Manage the Prepared Food team member related functions. Conduct meetings and visit stores to supervise the performance and development of the Prepared Foods teams and to ensure continuity and consistency between Divisions, Regions, and same store segments. Hold teams accountable for results by clearly communicating goals and expectations. Innovate with Market District Prepared Foods Leads and leaders to develop new items for the Giant Eagle, Inc. entire portfolio for our everyday business, special events, and promotions. Review and update all training procedures. Be a mentor and cheerleader for our Teams in our stores. Act as a resource and provide direction back and forth from Merchandising to Operations by determining items for ads, wraps, PDP and seasonal events and displays. Manage the Prepared Foods merchandizing functions. Lead department design, layouts and equipment evaluation for new and remodeled Market District stores. Have planograms for all service cases and Must Have lists for all areas under your scope of supervision. Review, update and/or create recipes for all current and new items sold in area. Create/update current QA standards in our prepared foods departments and only source ingredients from vendor's that have been approved by our QA team. Work closely with our vendors to understand, organize, flow through and execution of new items in our assortment.

Education and Training Required : High school diploma or equivalent plus 18 months to 3 years of additional training
Experience Required : 3 to 5 years
